Do I need Organization & De-cluttering?
Generally, a person who needs help from an organizing and de-cluttering stylist will often feel embarrassed about having people around to their house, and unannounced guests can be a particularly stressful ordeal. Often you can’t find important documents at critical moments and slowly but surely your environment begins to affect your life negatively, and generally get you down.

How to prepare
You will need to want to do this and be open and ready for some changes and challenges. Having a good rapport with your interior stylist is essential. These two things alone go the majority of the way to guaranteeing your success. Initial consultations are highly recommended to help you choose someone you click with. Your stylist should be hands-on as well as be there to guide, advise, teach and support you.
If work commitments are putting you off, consider enquiring about evening and weekend sessions or packages. |
Starting together
The aim is to make this an enjoyable process. Sorting through a house or space shouldn’t be a struggle. With the right stylist, it is easy and stress free. And the final result should be liberating.
After you’ve made contact, we would suggest a meeting to discuss exactly how we can help and look at the space or project you wish to tackle. After that we can give you a no-obligation quote for the work. This will be an hourly rate and we will give an estimate on how long we think the process will take. If the job will take more than a day or two we can agree to take it one day at a time and see how much we get through. Depending on the project, it is likely we will work with you as you will be required to make decisions. We can organise any packaging materials required, put you in touch with removal companies and help you to dispose of unwanted items. |
'Swiss Army' Girl
A stylist and organizing consultant worth her salt is many things rolled into one.
A teacher – who can explain and transfer organizing skills to you so you can maintain what is initially put into place. A coach – who will help keep your eye on the final goal and keep you on task. A motivator – who knows ways to give you quick “wins” that will encourage you to want to keep going! A good listener – who helps you understand why your previous efforts at organisation may not have been successful. A rich resource – who is well-versed in a range of styles, methods and solutions. Creative – We don’t do one-size-fits-all organising solutions. Each client is unique and we will create systems that work to your strengths. Objective – She brings a non-biased and impartial perspective to your situation. Sensitive & Non-judgmental - we do not privately or publicly make criticisms against you for your situation, and know a bit of mess does not indicate you have bad character! |
We don't like landfill
The UK produces more than 434 million tonnes of waste every year. This rate of rubbish generation would fill Royal Albert Hall in less than 2 hours*.
Penelope helps recycle her client’s unwanted items where possible. Not only is this good for our environment but it can sometimes be good financially. Discarded belongings can be turned into cash on eBay or even in antique shops. Alternatively there is Freecycle, plenty of charity shops and clearance businesses which would be more than happy to relieve you of them. All other ‘waste’ we will help you sort into piles ready for the recycling centre. *Source: www.wasteonline.org.uk |
